Job summary

YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City is seeking a Fitness Center Attendant to monitor the facility, assist members, and maintain a clean, safe environment that reflects the Y’s mission. You will support daily operations, direct members to resources, and help ensure a welcoming atmosphere throughout shifts.

Requirements include CPR PRO, AED, O2 and First Aid certification, being at least 18, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must be CPR PRO, AED, O2 and First Aid certified.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Strong verbal, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience establishing personal relationships with members.

Responsibilities

• Remain visible in the fitness center and provide guidance to members.
• Encourage participation in personal training or YMCA programs.
• Clean all cardiovascular and weight equipment.
• Ensure towels and spray bottles are available to members.
• Re-rack dumbbells and plates during shifts and after busy periods.
• Report equipment malfunctions by updating the Equipment Log.
• Maintain service logs and complete routine maintenance as directed.
• Assist with fitness events and programs and stay current on YMCA trends.
• Handle member inquiries and complaints professionally.
• Develop relationships with members, donors and volunteers.
