Job summary

Navy Region Southwest Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) seeks a Recreation/Fitness Attendant to assist in operating CNRSW fitness centers and gyms. You will provide customer service, manage facility access, handle gear, and support event activities under the supervision of the Fitness Manager.

The role involves scheduling, basic instruction, safety adherence, and routine facility maintenance to ensure clean, orderly spaces and engaging programs for patrons.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of MWR policies, rules, and regulations.
• Knowledge of basic arithmetic for charges, change, and reports.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures.
• Knowledge of basic fitness, aquatics and sports principles.
• Knowledge of safe use and operation of fitness equipment and facility operations.
• Ability to develop and deliver presentations and/or training.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Provides customer service to facility patrons, checks IDs, issues gear, and registers patrons for use, events, and classes.
• Answers phones and provides information on hours, events, and programs.
• Completes daily activity reports and handles cash, verifying amounts and securing funds.
• Assists in planning, scheduling, publicizing activities, and maintaining related supplies.
• Oversees sale of retail items and evaluates fitness activities from participant feedback.
• Monitors patrons and contractors, reports issues to management, and maintains safety and order.
• Assists in selecting and scheduling fitness, sports, and aquatics activities; monitors indoor and outdoor activities.
