This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Fitness, Sports, and Deployed Forces Support Branch; Fleet Readiness; Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) Naval Submarine Base New London in Groton, CT. The incumbent serves in an assistant or support capacity and may perform duties within fitness, aquatics and sports sections.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of MWR policies, rules, and regulations.
• Basic arithmetic to compute charges and prepare reports.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures.
• Knowledge of basic fitness, aquatics and sports principles.
• Knowledge of safe use and operation of fitness equipment and facility operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related tools for programming.
• Ability to provide fitness, aquatics and sports training or orientation.
• Ability to carry out day to day recreation operations.
• Ability to develop and deliver presentations and/or training.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day recreation operations within fitness, sports and aquatics sections.
• Deliver training or orientation on fitness programs as needed.
• Communicate with patrons and staff effectively in written and oral forms.
