Job Summary:

As an Assistant Manager focused on fitness programming, you will design and implement innovative workouts, lead a team of fitness professionals, and motivate our members to achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform fitness assessments, determine exercise prescriptions, and create workout programs for diverse populations, including high-risk clients.
2. Design, implement, and oversee a variety of fitness programs, such as group classes, personal training, and specialized offerings.
3. Build strong relationships with members by providing exceptional customer service and supporting their fitness goals.
4. Mentor and supervise fitness staff, fostering a positive work environment.
5. Stay current with the latest fitness trends and industry best practices to keep our programs innovative.
6. Manage daily operations of the fitness center, including facilities and maintenance.
7. Instruct group exercise classes and manage scheduling and staffing for these classes at some locations.
8. Assist the Program Manager with strategic planning, budgeting, and reporting.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field.
2. Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
3. Certification from a nationally recognized organization such as NASM, ACSM, NSCA, or ACE.
4. At least 1 year of experience in the fitness industry; experience leading group classes is a plus.
5. Passion for developing others with a proven mentoring and coaching record.
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, an outgoing personality, and strong customer service abilities.
