Job summary

Imagineeer seeks an IT Acquisition/FITARA Analyst to help a federal agency plan, buy, and govern its IT. You will review acquisitions for FITARA compliance, develop strategies, and turn investment data into clear reports and dashboards for leadership and oversight bodies.

Working with program managers, contracting officers, budget staff, and IT leadership, you will identify compliance gaps and advise on governance improvements, ensuring IT spending is properly planned, approved, and tracked.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT Management, Public Administration, or a related field
• 5+ years of federal IT acquisitions or related program analysis experience
• Strong FITARA knowledge and implementing guidance (OMB M-15-14)
• Experience with FAR and agency-specific acquisition policies
• Familiarity with CPIC and IT budget/investment reporting requirements
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and briefings
• Excellent analytical, research, and communication skills
• Ability to brief senior executives and produce high-quality reports

Responsibilities

• Support planning, execution, and management of IT acquisitions in alignment with FAR and agency policies.
• Review proposed IT acquisitions to confirm FITARA review/approval before award.
• Conduct FITARA compliance assessments and recommend actions to improve performance.
• Develop acquisition strategies, conduct market research, and prepare cost/benefit analyses.
• Track and analyze IT investment portfolio with CPIC alignment and reporting.
• Prepare FITARA-related reports, dashboards, and briefing materials for leadership and oversight.
• Advise program offices on contract types and vendor engagement strategies.
• Coordinate with budget, finance, procurement, and IT teams for accurate reporting.
• Recommend governance improvements and track progress against performance measures.
• Develop training materials and guidance to strengthen staff understanding of FITARA.
