Job summary

The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission is accepting applications for a Fish Culturist (Wildlife Conservation Technician I) in the Inland Fisheries Division. The incumbent will propagate, rear, transport and distribute warmwater and coldwater fishes at the McKinney Lake Hatchery in Hoffman, NC, following a 40-hour Monday–Friday schedule.

Minimum education: Associate Degree in wildlife or fisheries management (or construction management) and two years of related experience, or an

Qualifications

• Knowledge of fish culture principles and biology.
• Experience operating or maintaining hatchery equipment and facilities.
• Ability to work with hatchery staff and the public.
• Valid NC driver's license within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Propagate, rear, transport and distribute fish species.
• Operate and maintain hatchery equipment and facilities.
• Support water quality, stock assessments and habitat conservation.
