The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission seeks a Fish Culturist (Wildlife Conservation Technician I) for the Inland Fisheries Division. The role focuses on production and distribution of warmwater and coldwater fishes, including propagation, rearing, transportation, and stocking at McKinney Lake Hatchery in Hoffman, NC.

This full-time, 40-hour-week position requires Monday–Friday work with occasional nights, weekends, and travel; residency at the hatchery is required to support

Qualifications

• Associate degree in wildlife or fisheries management or construction management.
• Two years of experience in wildlife or fisheries resources management or heavy equipment operation.
• Knowledge of hatchery equipment construction, maintenance and repair.
• Ability to work with hatchery staff and the public.

Responsabilités

• Produce and distribute warmwater and coldwater fishes.
• Operate and maintain hatchery facilities and equipment.
• Transport and stock fish as required.
• Occasional nights, weekends, or travel may be required.
