An established industry player is seeking an enthusiastic individual to assist with compliance inspections and wetland delineations. The role involves fieldwork, including issuing permits, conducting site visits, and ensuring adherence to environmental regulations. Candidates should possess a strong educational background in relevant biological sciences and experience with GPS and GIS technologies. The duties expected of the incumbent include:
Required: 30 semester credit hours, including 12 in fisheries, marine resources or wildlife management, mariculture, marine biology, aquaculture, aquatic, marine or terrestrial ecology, zoology, marine technology, botany, limnology, hydrology, or oceanography.
Preferred: Experience with GPS, GIS, Microsoft Word, and Excel. Experience with wetland delineation, including vegetation identification, soil description, and navigation using aerial and topographic maps.
This hourly position is funded through 3/31/2026, with potential for extension based on program needs and funding. Valid driver’s license or ability to meet transportation needs is required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, may be necessary. The role involves negotiating difficult terrain, working in remote areas and adverse weather, travel, overtime, overnight stays, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to lift objects up to 50 pounds.
