Job summary

The Delaware County Department of Human Services is seeking a Fiscal Technician to support eligibility, reimbursement and financial tracking for children and families. This Civil Service permanent, full-time role offers a collaborative work environment and a strong benefits package.

You will maintain records, review eligibility, coordinate with state and county partners, and ensure compliance with Title IV-E requirements.

Qualifications

• One year as a Fiscal Assistant, or
• Three years maintaining fiscal or financial records with accounting exposure, plus high school graduation, or
• One year maintaining fiscal records with an associate degree in accounting or business administration, or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Eligibility Reviews: determine initial and ongoing Title IV-E eligibility for children in agency custody.
• Funding Support: maximize reimbursement from federal, state, and other sources by reviewing eligibility information.
• Database Management: maintain databases, review reports, and verify client eligibility data.
• Document Review: examine court orders to confirm Title IV-E compliance.
• Financial Tracking: track DRO and Social Security payments, emergency vouchers and other fiscal activities.
• Program Coordination: communicate with agency staff, state partners, county personnel, and program offices.

Education

Associate degree in accounting or business administration

High school diploma or equivalent
