Job summary

Washington State University seeks a Fiscal Manager to provide strategic accounting support with emphasis on audit compliance. You will oversee financial data analysis, GAAP adherence, and systems administration for Sage and Workday.

The role reports to the Associate VP of Advancement Financial Services and the Chief Finance Officer, supervising staff and guiding junior colleagues. A $22 million operating budget under your oversight supports transparent decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field with significant accounting coursework and five+ years of professional accounting experience, including two years in supervision.
• Active CPA license in Washington State or transferable, with potential consideration for CPA certification within 12 months of employment.
• Experience analyzing and interpreting financial data and preparing financial reports, statements, and projections.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and database applications (Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Manage and analyze financial data in accordance with GAAP and regulatory guidelines.
• Oversee financial systems administration (Sage and Workday) and ensure data accuracy and efficiency.
• Supervise staff, review deliverables, and provide leadership to the finance team.
• Maintain accurate financial records for a $22 million operating budget and support transparency and decision-making.
