South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission is seeking an entry-level Fiscal Technician II to learn and support accounts payable/receivable, monitor expenditures, and prepare travel expense reports. The role involves tracking payments, reconciling accounts, and updating budget reports, with opportunities to work with Power BI dashboards.

The position requires a high school diploma (bachelor’s with accounting courses acceptable) and strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable for the commission.

The WCC is looking for an eager person to fill an entry-level position. You will learn and gain experience in SC state government and workers' compensation. The South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission seeks a motivated, dedicated, and detail-oriented Fiscal Technician II. This role involves processing the Commission’s accounts payable and accounts receivable, monitoring monthly expenditures and updating the associated reports, and preparing and processing travel expense reports and state credit card audits.

• Receive, prepare, and process all invoices sent to the commission. Prepare all purchase orders throughout the year, as well as the change of each fiscal year.
• Track and manage all deposits and payments to the commission, including but not limited to cash, check, and online payments. Ensure weekly reconciliation of the commission accounts.
• Manage and update the weekly and monthly budget and expenditure reports.
• Prepare and process all travel reimbursement documents for the commission.
• Process and prepare monthly procurement card and lodging card closeout

A high school diploma and entry-level experience in accounting or bookkeeping. A bachelor’s degree with multiple accounting courses may be substituted for the required work experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong analytical skills.
