Job summary

South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission is seeking an entry-level Fiscal Technician II to learn and support accounts payable/receivable, monitor expenditures, and prepare travel expense reports. The role involves tracking payments, reconciling accounts, and updating budget reports, with opportunities to work with Power BI dashboards.

The position requires a high school diploma (bachelor’s with accounting courses acceptable) and strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree with accounting courses may substitute.
• Ability to learn and apply state procurement code and accounting principles.
• Experience or exposure to data analytics and reporting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong attention to detail in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable for the commission.
• Monitor monthly expenditures and update related reports.
• Prepare and process travel expense reports and state credit card audits.
• Track deposits/payments and ensure weekly account reconciliation.
• Prepare weekly/monthly budget and expenditure reports.
• Process procurement card and lodging card closeout monthly.
• Support learning Power BI dashboards related to financial data.
