Job summary

University of Miami seeks a Transitional Guide to support onboarding and ongoing student success for incoming first-year students. You will serve as the primary contact from deposit through handoff to Cane Navigator, guiding academic planning and major changes involving multiple schools.

You will collaborate with Cane Navigators, Admissions, Financial Aid, and other units to ensure a holistic, campus-wide support experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; applicants with relevant advising experience are preferred.
• Experience in counseling or customer service is desirable and helps support students.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills across campus are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide onboarding and student success services to incoming first-year students.
• Serve as primary contact for assigned students during onboarding.
• Guide students through major changes involving multiple schools/colleges.
• Leverage office tools and technology to manage student records and communication.
• Collaborate with campus units to support registration, advising, and events.
