Job summary

BorgWarner in South Carolina is seeking a Quality Technician to diagnose, dismantle and repair components, document evaluation data, and ensure parts meet quality standards on the production line.

The role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while minimizing rework and scrap. Training on DDRM procedures will be provided, with opportunities for growth within the BorgWarner quality organization.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; 6 months of quality-related experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information.

Responsibilities

• Observe products in operation and locate causes of trouble/abnormalities.
• Dismantle products to identify and remove defective parts.
• Process defective parts through nonconforming material procedure.
• Inspect good components to verify conformity and return to assembly line.
• Repair or replace defective parts.
• Lubricate and clean parts.
• Enter evaluation data into spreadsheets to create reports.
• Introduce rework material to the line per the DDRM (Defect Diagnosis and Repair Manual).
• Minimize rework/reject material inventory.
• Other duties as assigned.

Diagnoses, repairs and disassembles transfer cases and other products to help diagnosis quality issues and reduce scrap.To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the ability to be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
