Job summary

BorgWarner is hiring a First Time Quality Technician for 1st shift to diagnose, repair and disassemble transfer cases and related products. You will participate in quality investigations, create reports, and help reduce scrap on the production line.

Strong attention to detail and basic computer skills are essential. Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED and at least 6 months' quality experience.

First Time Quality Technician, 1st shift

Diagnoses, repairs and disassembles transfer cases and other products to help diagnosis quality issues and reduce scrap.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the ability to be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Standard Duties:

• Observes products in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble/abnormalities.
• Dismantles products to identify and remove any defective parts.
• Process defective part through nonconforming material procedure
• Inspect good components to verify they are conforming and able to be returned to the assembly line.
• Repairs or replaces any defective parts.
• Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Evaluate rejects and determine root cause.
• Enter evaluation data into spreadsheet to create a report including FTQT Log and FPY spreadsheet.
• Introduces rework material to the line in accordance with the DDRM, (Defect Diagnosis and Repair Manual)
• Actively works to minimize rework/reject material inventory
• Other duties as assigned.

Education: High School diploma or GED

6 months of quality related experience preferred

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
