Job summary

Aerotek in Canton, OH is seeking a 1st Shift Welder/Fitter to MIG weld and fit structural parts from blueprints. You will read technical drawings and verify alignment using rulers, while operating overhead cranes and hand tools on a production floor.

The role offers opportunities to obtain AWS certification and grow within a team-driven environment on first shift, with a competitive hourly pay range.

Qualifications

• MIG welding on stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret weld locations accurately.
• Must have or be willing to obtain AWS certification through training.
• Two years welding experience or welding school graduate.
• Accurate measuring and ruler readings for alignment.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum components with consistent quality and accuracy.
• Fabricate and fit structural parts together using detailed blueprints and precise ruler measurements for horizontal and vertical alignment.
• Use overhead cranes to safely stand material up, move heavy components, and tack beams in place.
• Utilize hand and power tools, including grinders and torches, to ensure parts fit together correctly and meet specifications.
• Perform grinding, torch cutting, and finishing work on welded assemblies as needed.
• Carry out vertical welding on structural steel and ensure welds meet required standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints accurately to determine weld locations, dimensions, and assembly requirements.
• Work collaboratively with team members on the manufacturing floor to complete projects efficiently and safely.
• Maintain and use your own basic tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, tape measures, and pliers.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and safe operation of cranes and tools.
