Job summary

Phoenix Metals Company is seeking a warehouse associate to perform metals processing and distribution tasks in a plant setting. The role involves moving inventory, pulling orders, and handling material with forklifts, side loaders, and cranes.

Responsibilities include receiving, stocking, tagging, and documenting material, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and possibly local deliveries. A valid driver’s license and basic measurement skills are required.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High School diploma/GED preferred.
• Must possess a Valid Drivers License.
• Ability to meet current MVR quality criteria as defined by Federal regulations and/or company policy.
• Warehousing and material handling experience preferred.
• Must be able to obtain a certification to operate all required motorized material handling and rigging equipment.
• Clear oral and written communication skills, legible handwriting.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions as applied to work situations.
• Basic measurement skills, including taking and using measurements for basic math computations.
• Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Ability to make sound decisions based on knowledge, experience, and judgment.

Responsibilities

• Move inventory or equipment and fill customer orders.
• Pull and assemble orders based on shipping documents.
• Unload incoming material and load trucks or customer vehicles.
• Tag material for identification and complete required documentation.
• Move material using forklift, side loader or crane.
• Operate yard truck to load and unload trailers.
• Keep work area clean, safe, and orderly.
• Sort material by size, type, or product code and restock as needed.
• Spot check inventory and ensure proper tagging; report irregularities.
• Restock material and assist with local deliveries as needed.
