Job summary

The Building Center, Inc in Mebane, NC is hiring for a 1st Shift Builder to support manufacturing of roof and floor trusses. This full-time role reports to the Production Manager and is based in the Shop division of Mebane.

Responsibilities include material handling, assembling truss parts per drawings, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining a clean work area. Candidates should read blueprints and operate common shop tools.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Follows safety rules and works well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture roof and floor trusses on the shop floor.
• Handle lumber and truss plates for material flow.
• Set jig templates and truss geometry per shop drawings.
• Assemble parts to produce trusses per shop drawings.
• Operate tools to assist assembly and maintain a clean workspace.
• Lead the assembly workstation when required.
• Mark finished trusses with the part number and work number.
• Understand truss geometry and angles as part of fabrication.
