84 Lumber is seeking an entry-level Truss Builder to assemble roof and floor trusses in an indoor manufacturing facility in Mount Airy, MD. No prior experience is required; on-the-job training is provided. You will read blueprints, measure materials, and use hand and power tools to build to specifications.

The role operates on second shift (3:30 pm to 2:00 am, Monday–Thursday with possible Fridays). Pay is $17.50/hr plus a $1.50 shift differential, with full benefits after 60 days including

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• Able to read a tape measure and perform basic math.
• Physically able to lift 50+ pounds and stand long periods.
• Team player with good communication.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to production requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assemble roof and floor trusses using pre-cut lumber.
• Read blueprints or work orders.
• Operate saws, nail guns, and other tools safely.
• Ensure trusses meet quality standards.
• Meet daily production quotas in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Follow safety protocols and PPE.
• Verify dimensions per specs and cut-sheet layout.
• Place metal plates over joints with a hammer.
• Suggest process improvements to increase efficiency.
• Fulfill daily machine and area cleanup.
