Job summary

Aerotek in Dunlap, TN is seeking a Welder to perform TIG and MIG welding on aluminum, carbon steel, and stainless steel components, reading drawings and weld symbols to ensure proper setup and execution.

You will set up fixtures, examine weld quality through inspections and certifications, operate related hand and power tools, and contribute to fabrication, assembly, and maintenance within a safety‑driven manufacturing environment. Shift is first shift with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience reading mechanical drawings and weld symbols.
• Proficiency in TIG and MIG welding on multiple metals.
• Ability to set up fixtures and control amperage/voltage accurately.
• Experience with hand and power tools used in welding and fabrication.
• Strong attention to detail to maintain weld quality and reduce scrap.
• Ability to document inspections and certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Read drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols for accurate setup and execution.
• Perform TIG and MIG welding on aluminum, carbon steel, and stainless steel components.
• Set up and adjust welding fixtures and parameters (amps/volts) for proper penetration and bead appearance.
• Conduct weld finishing and surface preparation per specifications.
• Assist assembly of hydraulic, electronic, and mechanical components.
• Support fabrication tasks for passageway systems, testing equipment, dies, and jigs.
• Use hand and power tools to complete fabrication work and perform basic maintenance on equipment.
• Conduct process inspections and maintain documentation to verify weld quality.
• Meet production targets while maintaining quality and minimizing scrap.
