Job summary

Deep Foods is seeking a Supervisor to oversee daily plant operations in Union, NJ. You will lead the second shift, drive safety, quality, and productivity, and support continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced environment with 150+ staff.

The role requires strong leadership, bilingual English/Spanish communication, and experience in high-speed manufacturing and packaging. Overtime is often required.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience in high-speed food manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience with packaging/filling equipment preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Knowledge of FDA/USDA/GMP compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and supervise daily second shift production operations to meet production and customer goals.
  • Monitor production performance, quality standards, and on-time shipment requirements.
  • Promote and enforce workplace safety policies and procedures.
  • Optimize labor, equipment, and material resources to maximize productivity and minimize waste.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze production data, downtime, scrap, and overtime trends to improve operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, GMP, sanitation, and company standards.
  • Partner with maintenance, quality, warehouse, and management teams to support efficient plant operations.
  • Train, coach, and develop production employees while maintaining accountability and performance standards.
  • Address employee relations and performance matters in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintain accurate production and operational records.
  • Stay informed on manufacturing best practices, safety standards, and operational improvements.
  • Foster a respectful and inclusive multicultural work environment.
  • Overtime will be often required

Job description:

This is a newly created position intended to supplement a great staff and an expanding staff.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Supervisor to help oversee daily plant operations . The ideal candidate is a strong leader with experience in high-speed manufacturing environments and the ability to drive safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is responsible for supervising production activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, supporting employee development, and maintaining efficient plant operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with over 150 employees. Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience in food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, or other high-speed manufacturing environments strongly preferred
  • Experience with high-speed packaging and/or filling equipment strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of plant operations including HVAC, refrigeration, sanitation, and GMP compliance
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills required to be successful
  • Must be available to work overtime as needed

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment with varying temperatures
