Job summary

LT Foods Americas is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead our manufacturing team with a focus on safety, efficiency, and quality. This hands-on role oversees daily production, develops staff, and ensures compliance with Quality, Food Safety, and company standards.

Reports to the Director of Engineering and Manufacturing and leads shift operations on most days, with potential second shift coverage as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises manufacturing employees by communicating expectations, assigning work, monitoring performance, coaching, and enforcing policies.
  • Supports staffing and employee development through selection, onboarding, training, cross-training, and performance feedback.
  • Maintains production flow by monitoring steps, equipment, and materials, escalating issues, and coordinating corrective action.
  • Executes the daily production plan by assigning personnel, setting priorities, and producing shift reports.
  • Maintains product quality by enforcing standards, SOPs, GMPs, and food safety requirements.
  • Ensures products meet customer specifications and company standards.
  • Promotes and participates in the company's food safety culture and addresses concerns promptly.
  • Compiles and reports production data, downtime, labor usage, yield, and quality results.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve operations and cost performance; communicates with leadership.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment and supports operator maintenance when needed.
  • Willing to work on production lines and provide hands-on support when needed.

We are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to lead our manufacturing team and help drive safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This hands‑on leadership role oversees daily production activities, supports employee development, maintains production flow, and ensures products are manufactured and shipped in accordance with company, customer, Quality, and Food Safety standards.

Position Summary

The Production Supervisor is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations and ensuring production goals are met safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Quality, Food Safety, and company standards. Reporting to the Director of Engineering and Manufacturing, this position leads and develops production employees, monitors production flow and equipment, supports troubleshooting, and drives continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with strong communication and problem‑solving skills who can coach employees, collaborate across departments, and promote a strong food safety culture. This position is primarily 1st shift, Monday–Friday, with flexibility to work Saturdays and adjust hours or provide 2nd shift coverage as business needs require.

Responsibilities
Production
  • Supervises manufacturing employees by communicating job expectations; assigning work; monitoring performance; coaching and training employees; and consistently applying company policies and procedures.
  • Supports staffing and employee development by participating in selection, onboarding, training, cross‑training, and ongoing performance feedback.
  • Maintains production flow by monitoring process steps, equipment, control points, personnel, and materials; escalating equipment or process issues; and coordinating timely corrective action.
  • Executes the daily production plan by assigning personnel, establishing shift priorities, monitoring progress, adjusting work assignments, resolving routine problems, and completing accurate shift production reports.
  • Maintains product quality by enforcing company standards, SOPs, GMPs, food safety requirements, and quality control procedures.
  • Ensures products manufactured and shipped meet all applicable Quality and Food Safety requirements, customer specifications, and company standards.
  • Actively promotes and enthusiastically participates in the company's food safety culture by demonstrating strong food safety practices, reinforcing expectations with employees, and promptly addressing food safety concerns.
  • Provides production information by accurately compiling, reviewing, and reporting production records, downtime, labor usage, yield, quality results, and other shift performance data.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve operating practices, workflow, recordkeeping, safety, quality, efficiency, and cost performance; recommends improvements to the Director of Engineering and Manufacturing.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment by training and directing employees on the proper use of equipment and resources and ensuring compliance with established safety policies and procedures.
  • Promotes teamwork and effective communication within the shift and across Production, Quality, Warehouse, Sanitation, and Maintenance.
  • Ensures production efficiency, labor efficiency, recovery yield, and FTQ (First Time Quality) standards are achieved; escalates gaps and supports corrective actions.
  • Willingly works on production lines and provides hands‑on support when operational needs require.
Maintenance
  • Performs and verifies operator preventive maintenance activities as assigned and ensures required documentation is completed.
  • Coordinates breakdown response with Maintenance and communicates equipment issues, production impact, and repair priorities.
  • Monitors production‑area parts and supplies and promptly communicates replenishment needs to the appropriate department.
  • Supports scheduled maintenance activities and works closely with Maintenance, equipment vendors, and operators to improve equipment reliability.
  • Supports equipment changeovers, troubleshooting, and basic operator‑level maintenance activities as needed.

Requirements

  • 3 years of relevant food manufacturing experience, including at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Grain industry experience is a plus but not required.
  • Working knowledge of HACCP, HARPC, food safety, and sanitation requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing, basic problem‑solving, and statistical process control concepts.
  • Mechanically inclined and able to support operator maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment changeovers.
  • Understanding of SAP preferred but not required.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and employee development.
  • Willing and able to work on production lines when operational needs require.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Experience following and supporting the development of SOPs and training documents.
  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with GFSI standards, including SQF and FSSC 22000.
  • Thorough understanding of GMPs in the food industry.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining and promoting a strong food safety culture.
Desired Qualifications
  • SAP knowledge preferred.
  • Food manufacturing supervisory experience preferred.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while working on the production floor.
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, reach, climb stairs, and move throughout production and warehouse areas.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull materials, tools, supplies, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, as required by operational needs.
  • Ability to work around operating production equipment, machinery, noise, dust, varying temperatures, and other typical food‑processing conditions.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all safety and food safety requirements.
  • Ability to work on production lines and assist with equipment changeovers, troubleshooting, and operator maintenance when needed.
  • Ability to remain physically alert and mobile throughout the assigned shift.
Mental Demands
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and make sound decisions in a fast‑paced production environment.
  • Ability to monitor production processes, identify problems, and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately review production, quality, safety, and employee‑related information.

  • Ability to analyze information, identify trends, troubleshoot problems, and recommend process improvements.
  • Ability to maintain focus and productivity during extended periods of activity and changing operational priorities.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment while consistently following company policies, SOPs, GMPs, food safety requirements, and safety procedures.
Work Environment
  • Work is performed primarily in a food manufacturing and production environment with regular exposure to machinery, moving equipment, noise, dust, temperature variations, and other typical manufacturing conditions.
  • May be required to work varying shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, or extended hours based on production and business needs.
  • Must be flexible and willing to adjust work schedules and provide additional support when production, staffing, maintenance, quality, or business needs require.
