Job summary

EnerSys is seeking a Production Supervisor for the 1st shift in Springfield, MO. The role leads a manufacturing team, directs daily activities, ensures safety and quality, and aligns with production targets.

You will manage schedules, coordinate with maintenance and supply chain, and enforce standard operating procedures while coaching staff for continuous improvement. Strong English communication and math skills required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent, plus 2-year technical/associates degree or certification accompanied with no less than 1 year of work experience in a lead, project manager, or supervisory role.
• A bachelor’s degree in science, production management, business management, and/or engineering, with relevant work experience within a fast-paced heavy materials, system controlled machine and process driven work environment is preferred.
• A high level of self-motivation, the ability to coach others, and the agility and influence to effectively maintain the needed level of motivation within the team to achieve, if not exceed, performance expectations.
• Ability to associate cause and affect relationships and determine patterns of activity in anticipation of change within operations, processes, systems, and personnel on a continual and consistent basis.
• Display of basic math – addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and calculating percentages – with a high degree of accuracy.
• Fluent verbal and written skills in English. Strong communication skills, with ability to efficiently present a situation and effectively advocate for a position to any level of the organization.
• Display of the ability to read and write for understanding, interpret instructions and standard operating procedures, work within software programs (such as Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and business specific reporting systems.
• Ability to be qualified for safe and compliant use and maintenance of PPE (fit-tested respirator, steel-toed shoes, safety eyewear, hearing protection).

Responsibilities

• This is an onsite in Springfield, MO dayshift 6A to 3P, Mon -Fri.
• Provide the appropriate level of leadership, supervision, and training/development to the people assigned within your shift and/or department.
• Provide the expected level of oversight to the equipment, systems, resources, and facilities under your control.
• Understand, and effectively communicate expected department targets, to include production, safety, quality, cost control and operational excellence levels (KPIs).
• Establishing work schedules and managing to planned and unplanned employee levels, providing hands-on coverage as needed, providing for, and making request of appropriate levels of support, supply and materials, and utilizing MRP systems to timely communicate production data.
• Be an active liaison to other departments/shifts to ensure proper transfer of information to production status and other key performance areas.
