Job summary

Raytheon is seeking an Optics Ultra-Precision Machining Technician in Richardson, TX to join a first-shift team. You will set up CNC equipment, read optical specifications, and ensure precision components meet requirements in a fast-paced, low-volume environment.

The role requires experience in CNC machining, GD&T, metrology, and working with diamond turning tools. The position is onsite, with a 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM shift and US citizenship per contract rules.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent with 1+ year CNC shop experience.
• Experience with CNC programming and cutting tools.
• US citizenship is required for access to program information.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture precision optics using Diamond Turning Lathes and Fly Cutters.
• Interpret drawings and GD&T for optical components.
• Read interferograms, CMM reports and metrology data.
• Set up and operate CNC or manual lathes, polishing equipment, and related machinery.
• Inspect in-process optics using interferometers and CMM.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and other technicians.
• Follow environment, health and safety rules and keep work area clean.
