Job summary

McDonald Plastic Molding, a subsidiary of A.Y. McDonald Industries, is seeking a Mold Repair Technician to perform all aspects of mold repair and maintenance. You will analyze tooling issues, read 2D mold designs, and coordinate with engineering to improve mold performance.

Forklift operation and tool-room duties are included. Applicants should have an Associate's Degree or equivalent experience and at least five years in mold repair within plastics manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or trade certification or equivalent experience in related field.
• Five years of mold repair experience in plastics manufacturing.
• Pre-employment background check and 9 panel drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on injection molds, disassemble for inspection, cleaning and repair.
• Analyze and diagnose tooling problems on the production floor and in the Tool Room.
• Read 2D mold designs to reflect revisions.
• Provide input to engineering and operations on mold performance and maintenance.
• Set up and operate tool room equipment, including manual and CNC machines.
• Troubleshoot and assemble manifold systems.
• Research equipment issues and take corrective action.
• Maintain inventories of tooling parts for repairs.
• Operate forklift as required.
• Support Maintenance team in plant operations as needed.
