Job summary

Aerotek is hiring for an Entry Level Mechanical Assembler in Colonial Heights, VA. You will assemble refrigeration cases and sub-assemblies, read work orders, and verify parts for proper fit.

Use hand and power tools, measure dimensions, and follow strict safety and quality standards to keep production on schedule. This is a contract-to-hire, onsite role with a first-shift schedule and a comprehensive benefits package available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude in a manufacturing, production, or assembly environment.
• Ability to read and understand work orders, assembly instructions, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Experience using hand tools and power tools in a production setting.
• Ability to read measurements and use measuring instruments.
• Experience with mechanical assembly and component fastening methods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work a consistent first-shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assemble refrigeration cases and sub-assemblies per instructions.
• Read and interpret work orders and production documents.
• Identify parts and ensure accurate installation according to specs.
• Use hand tools and power tools to complete assemblies safely.
• Measure dimensions with rulers, tapes and gauges.
• Install components using bolts, screws, rivets, and hardware.
• Maintain quality through gauging and dimensional checks.
• Rotate between workstations to support production.
• Collaborate with team to meet daily output targets.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.
• Follow safety, quality, and manufacturing standards.
