Qualifications

• Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine machine setup and sequence of operation.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos (safety rules, operating instructions, shop-floor paperwork).
• Ability to write simple correspondence and present information to customers and employees.
• Knowledge of measurement units and tolerances; ability to read vernier calipers.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets blueprints and shop orders to determine machine setup and operation sequence.
• Selects, positions, and secures tooling and fixtures on the machine.
• Adjusts machine controls for factors like pressure, ram stroke, and speed.
• Inspects or measures work output to ensure conformance.
• Documents deviations from prints and reports safety or quality issues.
