Job summary

ISU Research Park is seeking a Machine Operator II to advance precision machining capabilities. The candidate will set up and operate CNC or manual machines, read blueprints, and troubleshoot processes under supervision.

The role emphasizes adherence to standard work practices and continuous improvement within a mid-complexity program. Responsibilities include adjusting tooling, inspecting parts with precision gauges, mentoring junior operators, and supporting multiple cells to meet customer

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications is required.
• Proficiency with basic shop math and geometric tolerances is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adjust feed/spindle speeds and change tooling per specs.
• Set up and operate precision manual and CNC machines.
• Read and interpret blueprints/specifications.
• Troubleshoot problems and help develop new processes.
• Inspect products using precision gauges and instruments.
• Train and mentor new operators in programs within discipline.
