Job summary

Great Plains Manufacturing in Salina, KS is seeking a 1st Shift Forklift Operator / Material Handler in the Material Handling Department. Shift runs Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime on Fridays as required.

Responsibilities include picking parts, arranging kits, operating a forklift or hoist, cycle counts, and coordinating with assembly leads to meet deadlines. Must be able to lift and handle materials and maintain a safe, organized warehouse.

Qualifications

• Forklift license or ability to obtain one.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Understand team concepts and be a strong team player.
• Ability to read prints and be able to use tape measure, calipers, etc.

Responsibilities

• Accurately pick parts and materials from inventory based on work orders, production requirements, or customer requests.
• Assemble and package kits of parts for specific projects or orders, ensuring all components are present and correct.
• Operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
• Conduct regular inventory cycle counts to ensure stock accuracy and resolve discrepancies in the system.
• Interface with other departments to ensure deadlines are met and parts delivered on time.
• Follow all safety policies and wear prescribed PPE.
• Other duties as assigned.
