Job summary

Leggett & Platt seeks a Machine Operator in Fort Smith, AR to cut foam to customer specifications. You will work with the foam team, monitor tags and sizes, and ensure accurate cuts while maintaining safety and housekeeping in the shipping area.

Required is a High School diploma or GED, ability to read a tape measure, and basic computer skills. You may train on various machines and support other duties as needed.

• Must be punctual and dependable to support shift operations.
• Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in completing tasks.
• Maintains a clean, organized work area and follows safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Report to lead to determine portions to cut or slit at shift start.
• Check tags and measure blocks before cutting to ensure correct sizes.
• Help unload machines when needed and re-measure after cutting.
• Mark blocks with size and foam type; change blades with gloves as required.
• Operate all machines in the department and train others as needed.
