Job summary

Village Green Health and Rehabilitation in North Carolina is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our nursing team. The LPN will plan, coordinate, provide and manage nursing care, education, and resident well-being under the Director of Nursing.

The role emphasizes supervising CNAs, coordinating resident care on the unit, medication interventions, and accurate transcription of physician orders to ensure quality care for short-term and long-term residents.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse license required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the care/services provided by CNAs and other staff.
• Coordinate nursing care of residents on the unit and ensure staff provide appropriate care.
• Provide safe and accurate medication related interventions to residents.
• Transcribe and coordinate physician orders accurately.
• Perform nursing assessments and notify physician of status changes; implement new orders.
• Develop and implement care plans based on assessments.
• Select and apply nursing interventions to stabilize residents and prevent complications.

Applicant must have unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse license.

Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Licensed Practical Nurse will plan, coordinate, provide and manage nursing care, services, and health education to our residents.

These positions require patience, compassion, and a desire to care for the residents in a gentle and empathetic manner. Some responsibilities of the Licensed Practical Nurse may include:

• Supervise the care/services provided by Certified Nursing Assistants and other staff.

• Coordinate the nursing care of residents on the unit, assuring all assigned staff are capable of providing appropriate care to them.

• Provide safe and accurate medication related interventions to residents.

• Accurately transcribe and coordinate the implementation of physician orders.

• Perform nursing assessments regarding the health status of residents. Notify the physician of changes in status and promptly implement and document new orders.

• Develop a plan of care based on assessment, implementing nursing care.

• Select and institute appropriate nursing interventions that might be required to stabilize a resident’s condition and /or prevent complications.

Contribute to the resident’s assessment and the development of a care plan.
