Job summary

HM Electronics in Carlsbad, CA is seeking a diligent janitor to maintain a clean and sanitary workplace on the 1st shift. You will perform general cleaning duties, restock restrooms, and ensure safe, orderly facilities to support operations.

The role requires knowledge of cleaning chemicals, experience with floor care, and basic reading/writing skills. 3+ years preferred. Pay ranges from $18.00 to $19.81 per hour, with on-site benefits and a chance to grow within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of and safe use of all cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Experience with floor care machines, striping and waxing.
• Average mechanical aptitude.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• 3+ years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide general housecleaning duties in accordance with the approved schedule.
• Clean, disinfect, and resupply restrooms.
• Remove litter, wastepaper, and broken-down boxes from buildings, disposing of waste in proper dumpsters (i.e. recyclable, non-recyclable).
• Vacuum carpeted floors and performs high and low dusting.
• Maintain cleanliness of carpeted and tiled floors.
• Wet mop tile floors and performs spot-cleaning, as needed.
• Provide general maintenance and secures storage/supply rooms.
• Escort cleaning suppliers making deliveries.
• Assist with construction, moving of furniture and shelving, and replacement of light bulbs/ballasts as assigned.
• Keep track of ladders, vacuums, and other equipment used within scope of job.
