Job summary

National Safety Apparel is seeking a Cutting Department Lead to plan, coordinate, and drive efficiency and quality in the cutting area. You will ensure cut parts meet customer requirements and support the order prep area to ship on time.

The role emphasizes equipment operation, spreading, material handling, and marker accuracy, with a focus on safety, training, and ISO-aligned procedures. Full-time, on-site position with incentive opportunities.

Qualifications

• Education & Certifications: High school diploma or GED preferred
• Experience: 1 year of experience in manufacturing in a leadership role preferred
• Key Competencies: Interpersonal skills, coaching and development, analytical thinking, conflict resolution, persistence, initiative

Responsibilities

• Ensure cutting deadlines to meet orders and ship as directed by management.
• Maintain a neat, safe work area and follow NSA safety and housekeeping policies.
• Operate cutting equipment at appropriate feed rates for materials.
• Oversee spreading operations and feed the cutting machines with adequate material.
• Verify marker accuracy and material information for correct cutting.
• Manage inventory with FIFO and ensure timely replenishment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Train and onboard new employees; approve overtime and time off.
• Manage material handling and cut part quality; support recuts as needed.
• Oversee cutting department administration and document flow.
