Job summary

Acemetal, a Midwest sheet metal fabrication and machining company, seeks a CNC Mill Machinist with 5+ years of experience to join our team in the Chicagoland area.

You will work with Mori Seiki, Mazak, and HAAS machines, perform setups, read blueprints, calculate speeds and feeds, and hold tight tolerances while delivering quality parts for OEM customers in food processing, packaging, environmental, and pharmaceutical industries.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC Mill experience (G-Code) required.
• Experience with vertical and horizontal machining on Mori Seiki, Mazak, HAAS.
• Knowledge of tooling and applying different applications.
• Ability to perform setups, including work holding.
• Ability to calculate speeds and feeds for various materials.
• Must hold tight tolerances to +/- .0005.
• Proficient with inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers).
• Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Plan daily machining using blueprints, specs, routings, and tolerances.
• Excellent attention to detail and goal-driven attitude.
• Strong communication; willing to learn and adapt.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and engineering drawings and interpret programs.
• Plan daily machining using blueprints, specs, routings, and tolerances.
• Detect and troubleshoot problems by taking measurements and adjusting controls.
• Operate CNC mills with tight tolerances and ensure quality.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness; this is safety sensitive.
