Job summary

Cypress HCM is seeking a skilled Mill Set-up / Operator for 1st or 2nd shift to join a fast-growing metal fabrication team. Set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce precision components, read blueprints, and drive quality through tooling and process control.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in CNC milling, experience with Mori Seiki, Mazak, and HAAS, and a strong eye for detail. You will collaborate with supervisors and engineers to optimize setups, speeds, feeds, and tolerances.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years minimum experience as CNC Mill operator.
  • Ability to read blueprints and GD&T.
  • Hold tight tolerances ±0.0005 in.
  • Experience with Mori Seiki, Mazak, and HAAS.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operate vertical and horizontal machining centers (Mori Seiki, Mazak, HAAS).
  • Calculate speeds and feeds for various materials.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and GD&T.Plan machining operations based on specifications.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools.
  • Monitor operations and adjust to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling and equipment issues to minimize downtime.

Mill Set-up / Operator – 1st OR 2nd Shift

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing Metal Fabrication Company as a Lathe Set-up/Operator. The company is dedicated to having an amazing culture and keeping their employees happy.

Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate CNC milling machines to manufacture precision components.
  • Perform machine setups, including selecting and installing tooling and workholding fixtures.
  • Operate both vertical and horizontal machining centers, including machines such as Mori Seiki, Mazak, and HAAS.
  • Calculate and apply appropriate speeds and feeds for various materials.
  • Machine parts to tight tolerances of ±0.0005 inches.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, job routings, GD&T, and CNC programs.
  • Plan machining operations based on blueprints, specifications, and production requirements.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, and other inspection equipment.
  • Monitor machining operations and make machine or program adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and equipment issues to minimize downtime and ensure part quality.
  • Select and apply appropriate cutting tools and tooling for different machining applications.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following company safety procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, programmers, engineers, and team members regarding production and quality issues.
  • Continuously learn new machining techniques, equipment, and processes to improve performance.
  • Lift and handle materials, tooling, and parts weighing up to 50 pounds as required.
Requirements And Desired Experience:
  • 5 years minimum experience as a CNC Mill. (G-Code)
  • Vertical and Horizontal machining experience ( Mori Seiki, Mazak, HAAS).
  • Knowledge of tooling and different applications to apply.
  • Ability to do setups required to complete the part, including work holding.
  • Ability to calculate speeds and feeds for a variety of materials.
  • Must be able to hold tight tolerances. (+/- .0005)
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, engineering drawing and interpret computer programs sent to machine centers.
  • Use blueprints, specifications, job routings, geometric dimensions, and tolerances to plan daily machining.
  • Great attention to detail with a goal-driven attitude.
  • Detect and trouble shoot problems by taking measurements, adjusting controls, closely monitoring drilling, and cutting.
  • Very good communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
