Job description

1st Shift FT and PT
SUMMARY

The Caregiver provides personal care and incidental Activities of Daily Living to RCAC, CBRF, and/or Memory Care residents of Capri Communities LLC, adhering to organizational and regulatory requirements.

Must be available to work 7AM-3PM.

Must be available to work every other weekend and rotating holidays.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Adhere to the written Resident Care Plan to:
    • Assist residents in maintaining their independence with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, toileting, and nutritional needs. Provide assistance with preparing meals, laundry, and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
    • Assist residents with mobility and transfers.
    • Assist with medical administration and maintain related reporting requirements.
  2. Perform delegated tasks as instructed by the RN, Nurse Manager, Executive Director, Assistant Executive Director, Lead Caregiver, or Lifestyle Enrichment Specialist.
  3. Perform healthcare practices that meet acceptable standards.
  4. Assist with housekeeping duties in resident or common areas (vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, cleaning, etc.) as directed.
  5. Lead or assist with resident activities, both scheduled and impromptu.
  6. Observe and report resident conditions and safety hazards to the appropriate supervisor promptly.
  7. Document observations and activities accurately, completely, and timely.
  8. Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality for shifts.
  9. Demonstrate organizational skills to carry out shift duties and complete tasks while promoting residents' emotional well-being.
  10. Protect residents’ health information according to HIPAA policies and regulations.
  11. Maintain professional appearance, attitude, and demeanor during work hours.
  12. Stay informed about State Regulations and updates for DHS 83 and 89 relevant to services provided.
  13. Attend all mandatory staff meetings and in-service training.
  14. Perform other miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following are the requirements:

  • High School diploma preferred but not required. Plus:
    • At least twelve months of experience as a personal aide, Caregiver, or equivalent life experience.
    • Completion of CBRF and CNA certifications is preferred.
  • Reliability and flexibility in scheduling, with excellent attendance. Ability to work holidays and weekends as required.
  • Ability to demonstrate patience, understanding, tolerance, and the physical and emotional capacity to meet residents’ needs.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with all building regulations and DHS requirements. Maintain all training requirements per DHS 83 and/or 89. Ensure fair housing standards are met. Comply with OSHA, Workers Compensation, and other reporting requirements.
  • Commitment to resident satisfaction by providing high-quality relations, resolving complaints, and reporting issues to the Nurse Manager.
  • Administer care that meets safety and physical condition standards. Maintain safety and security for residents and staff. Ensure safety in food preparation and equipment use. Enforce safety, health, and food standards.
