Job summary

Johnson Controls in Largo, FL is seeking a skilled Brazer for the 1st shift to perform brazing and testing of copper components and refrigerant systems. You will join coils, read blueprints, and ensure leak-free, high-quality joints in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 6 months in manufacturing, and the ability to complete JCI Brazer training within 30 days. Competitive benefits, training opportunities, and overtime are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a craft apprenticeship or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety documents, and technical instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to complete JCI Brazer training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform brazing operations using a gas torch on copper components.
• Join coils, headers, and valve pack materials following detailed instructions.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and shop orders.
• Inspect brazed joints and perform first-article inspections to ensure quality standards.
• Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace (5S).
• Follow all safety procedures, including PPE usage, SOPs, and JSAs.
• Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other departments to meet production goals.
