Job summary

Johnson Controls in Largo, FL is seeking a Brazer to perform brazing and testing to meet specifications. You will join a production team welding mainly copper components using a gas torch and follow detailed work instructions.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints and work orders, maintaining safety, quality, and clean work areas, and participating in cross-training across the department. A high school diploma and manufacturing experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and six months of experience.
• Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read, communicate and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, blueprints and engineering drawings in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform brazing using a gas torch welding similar materials together (mainly copper) using a filler material.
• Read blueprints and engineering drawings to weld coil units.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow SOPs/JSAs.
• Train on and be expected to perform in all areas of the department.
