Job summary

The Keystone Distinction Group in Denison, IA is seeking an Assistant Plant Engineer on first shift to manage maintenance and engineering operations, keeping equipment and facilities in prime condition and minimizing downtime on production lines.

Responsibilities include capital project management, collaboration with the Plant Engineer, and leading TPM/PM programs; you will develop KPIs for maintenance performance and mentor the maintenance team to achieve high reliability and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field with 5+ years in manufacturing.
• 2+ years in a leadership role with team development.
• PLC and ammonia refrigeration experience required.
• Food manufacturing background; meat/kill floor experience a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CMMS systems.
• Advanced mechanical/electrical technical skills (PLCs, instrumentation, etc.).
• Ability to lead resource planning in a large manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of maintenance systems, work orders, PM/TPM, etc.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital project development and post-approval management, delivering on time and on budget.
• Collaborate with Plant Engineer on scheduling, safety, and standards.
• Direct Maintenance Department to implement TPM and PM programs.
• Optimize resource scheduling to maximize output and minimize downtime.
• Lead maintenance team; assign tasks and enforce policies.
• Champion plant safety through training and monitoring.
• Develop and track KPIs (OEE, supplier effectiveness).
• Foster positive employee development and coaching.
