Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active California Bar license in good standing.
• Strong litigation experience with substantive case-management responsibility.
• First-party property insurance experience strongly preferred.
• Transferable insurance, commercial, construction, or complex civil litigation backgrounds may be considered.
• Strong deposition, motion practice, discovery, negotiation, and trial preparation experience.
• Exceptional legal writing and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Manage first-party property insurance and related civil litigation matters.
• Develop and execute case strategy.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Manage written discovery and expert-related issues.
• Draft motions, briefs, pleadings, and other substantive legal filings.
• Prepare for and participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.

• Maintain strong communication with clients.
• Provide high-quality legal analysis and strategic recommendations.

Title: First-Party Property Litigation Attorney

Our client is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join its San Francisco practice.

Job Description

• This position differs from several of the firm's other growth-market openings in that it is primarily focused on litigation support, case management, and execution. An existing book of business or established referral network is not required.
• The ideal candidate will be a strong litigator with the ability to independently manage sophisticated matters and work collaboratively with attorneys across the firm's broader practice.
• First-party property insurance experience is strongly preferred, although candidates with highly transferable litigation experience will also be considered.
• Over time, the firm would like this individual to develop professional relationships and potentially participate in business development as they grow within the organization.
