Job summary

Western Alliance Bancorporation seeks an experienced First Line Risk & Control Associate Director to lead risk and control activities within the organization. The role focuses on implementing and enhancing risk programs, evaluating strategies, and driving control improvements across business units.

You will partner with stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and corporate standards are met, oversee risk indicator reporting, training, and change management initiatives, and guide a team

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related experience in Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, Internal Audit or similar field.
• Advanced knowledge of control testing and risk assessments.
• Proven leadership experience and ability to coach a team.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Identify, quantify, and report risk across the Bank and enable risk-based decisions by leadership.
• Lead a team in risk and control assessments and documentation of business risks and controls.
• Develop and enhance controls to mitigate regulatory and business risks and advise on design of monitors.
• Foster risk culture and collaborate with subject matter experts to implement programs.
• Hire, coach, and manage performance of team members.
