Job summary

Western Alliance Bancorporation is seeking a First Line Risk & Control Analyst to support and execute risk programs within the first line of defense. You will collaborate with business units to monitor risks and controls, ensuring compliance with risk policies and procedures across all risk types.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in risk management or related fields, a Bachelor's degree, and experience documenting processes. Strong communication and knowledge of banking operations are a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related experience in Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, Internal Audit or similar field.
• Entry level to intermediate knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
• Entry level to intermediate knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
• Entry level to intermediate experience in Compliance, Operations Management, Audit, Risk Management, or related field in financial services.
• Entry level to intermediate knowledge of and experience in documenting process maps in process mapping software.

Responsibilities

• Support and/or execution of risk programs and business unit risk activities in adherence with the Company's risk appetite and corporate strategy.
• Facilitate meetings to review process understanding and process map documentation.
• Provide timely execution of projects with a sense of urgency for deliverables; review policies and procedures to document process maps and narratives.
• Assist in identifying risks and controls in reviewed processes and assess control environment to determine mitigation or gaps.
• Engage with risk SMEs about the context or severity of risk factors and issues, including third parties, regulatory, legal matters, etc.
