Western Alliance Bancorporation is seeking a First Line Risk & Control Associate Director to lead risk and control programs within the company's risk framework. You'll guide a team responsible for evaluating risk strategies, mitigation approaches, and reporting key risk indicators to executives.

The role emphasizes collaboration with business units to strengthen controls, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement across digital, operational, and strategic risk areas.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related experience in Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, Internal Audit or similar field.
• Bachelor's degree in related field required.
• Advanced to expert knowledge and understanding of control testing.
• Previous leadership experience required.
• Advanced knowledge of banking operations and regulatory obligations.

Responsibilities

• Identify, quantify, and report risk across the Bank to inform risk-based decisions.
• Lead a team in risk and control assessment walkthroughs and advise on processes.
• Develop and enhance controls to mitigate legal and regulatory risks.
• Foster partnerships with risk SMEs to implement programs aligned with risk profile.
• Lead and develop the team including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
