Job summary

Edison Smart in Austin, TX is seeking its first dedicated internal IT hire for a fast-growing government/defense space. This hands-on role will own infrastructure, set up processes, and eventually move into leadership as the team scales.

You will manage GCC High/Azure Government, M365 stack, Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, security tooling, and be responsible for FedRAMP, NIST 800-171, CMMC compliance. This is a rare opportunity to build an IT function from scratch in a regulated environment

Qualifications

Must have built IT function from zero in a startup or high-growth environment.
Hands-on operator comfortable with strategy and day-to-day support.
Experience owning and administering GCC High / Azure Government environments.
Strong knowledge of M365, Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online and security stack.
Experience supporting FedRAMP, NIST 800-171 and CMMC Level 2 compliance.
U.S. Citizen eligible for security clearance (required).

Responsibilities

Act as the sole internal IT resource, managing processes and ongoing environment.
Oversee Microsoft 365 stack: Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, security tooling.
Support FedRAMP, NIST 800-171 and CMMC compliance requirements.
Manage secure government cloud environments (Azure Government, GovClouds).
Develop IT policies, processes and documentation for a regulated environment.
Scale infrastructure to support rapid growth and future leadership.
