Job summary

TMSA Public Charter Schools is seeking a First Grade Teacher for the McLeansville Campus in North Carolina. The role reports to the Principal and runs a 195-day contract with a starting salary around the NC-incentivized scale.

The ideal candidate holds a NC teaching license (or is in process) with prior teaching experience preferred. Responsibilities include planning standards-based lessons, maintaining a positive classroom, and collaborating with staff and families.

Job Title: Teacher

Reports To: Principal

Contract Length: 195 Days

The teachers demonstrate the competencies, energy, and positive attitude needed to encourage and teach all students in their academic and social preparedness.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
• Current North Carolina teaching license, or be in the process of obtaining one
• Prior teaching experience is preferred, but not required

Skills, Duties, and Responsibilities:

• Knows and understands the NC State Standard Course of Study to develop proficient and effective lesson plans for grade level/subject areas.
• Establishes a safe and orderly environment and a culture to empower students
• Manage various classroom behaviors and try to minimize disruptions to learning
• Participate in the MTSS process and procedures at TMSA to provide equitable and valuable education for all students
• Demonstrate leadership behaviors from the Leader In Me program that TMSA implements schoolwide
• Works collaboratively with school personnel to create a professional learning community
• Develops goals and strategies through the school improvement plan
• Open to constructive feedback from lead teachers, coaches, and administrators
• Ability to differentiate instruction according to students' needs
• Collaborates with colleagues to mentor and support teachers to improve the effectiveness of the department or grade level
• Appreciates differences and values contributions of each student by building positive, appropriate relationships
• Regularly assess students, both formative and summative.
• Demonstrate technology/instructional media competency to enhance learning
• Work with parents and guardians to promote positive behavioral support and a respectful yet nurturing learning environment
• Other duties assigned by the Principal

Note: The minimum starting salary shown includes a $6,000 incentive for the NC educator license. Unlicensed applicants are ineligble for the license salary incentive.

Salary: $58,500 to $71,750 Per Year
