Job summary

MaineHealth seeks a First Cook at Maine Medical Center in Scarborough, ME to perform a variety of food service tasks, including cooking, serving, and maintaining kitchen hygiene. Responsibilities include stocking, cashiering, and temperature checks, with a focus on customer service.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Current MaineHealth employees not eligible for the sign on bonus. Must be separated from MaineHealth system for 6months to be eligible.

Summary

The First Cook role performs a variety of duties normally performed in serving customers, preparing food, transporting and emptying trash receptacles, cleaning the kitchen, serving and seating areas, assisting in receiving and storing stock, cashiering, checking and recording hot and cold temperatures and washing dishes.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
2. Experience: Previous experience demonstrating the ability to perform safe food handling, prep and sanitation techniques required.
3. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: N/A
4. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Ability to perform basic arithmetic, possess computer and computerized cash register skills and ability to handle cash, make change and count money as required by some duties.

The pay range for this position is $21.97to $29.28 per hour.
