Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking a First Cook at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME. This Full Time, Evening shift position involves preparing food, serving customers, maintaining sanitation, cashiering, and ensuring safe food handling. Experience with cash registers and basic arithmetic is preferred.

The First Cook role performs a variety of duties normally performed in serving customers, preparing food, transporting and emptying trash receptacles, cleaning the kitchen, serving and seating areas, assisting in receiving and storing stock, cashiering, checking and recording hot and cold temperatures and washing dishes.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience demonstrating the ability to perform safe food handling, prep and sanitation techniques required.
• Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Ability to perform basic arithmetic, possess computer and computerized cash register skills and ability to handle cash, make change and count money as required by some duties.

The pay range for this position is $21.97to $29.28 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
