Innovative Consulting & Management Services (ICMS) is seeking a dependable First-Class Stationary Engineer to operate and maintain steam, chilled water, and compressor systems at a federal facility in Gaithersburg, MD.

Candidates must hold the MD-DLLR Grade 1 license, EPA Universal certification, a high school diploma or GED, and at least two years of independent operation on large equipment. Security clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or preferred.
• MD-DLLR Grade 1 License (First-Class Stationary Engineer) required.
• EPA Universal Certification (CFC) required.
• Minimum two years independent operation as a first-class stationary engineer.

Responsibilities

• Maintain steam pressure and water level in boilers and ensure safe operation.
• Inspect feed water controls, gauges and combustion efficiency.
• Operate auxiliary equipment for steam, chilled water, and compression systems.
• Perform troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on plant equipment.
• Maintain PPE, site cleanliness and adhere to safety protocols.

ICMS is seeking dependable and motivated First-Class Stationary Engineer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain the correct steam pressure and water level in the steam generators by proper operation of the control system.
• Inspect the feed water regulatory controls and gauges.
• Ensure proper combustion by maintaining the required O2 levels in the exit gases.
• Maintain an established chemical program by performing tests, adding the required chemicals to each system, and adjusting system blow down rates, etc.
• Perform operation of all auxiliary equipment associated with steam generation, and electrical generation, and chilled water production.
• Maintain correct air pressure by proper adjustments to the air compressors and dryers.
• Maintain site Chilled Water temperature to the campus.
• Operate and monitor the chillers for inlet/outlet temperatures for the condenser and evaporator, and the free cooling system.
• Insure the safe operation of all equipment.
• Wear proper PPE and follow all required protocols.
• Perform operation and maintenance of the equipment detailed herein:

• Four high pressure steam generators (boilers); generating 44,000 lbs. of steam per hour at 150 psi.
• Two high pressure steam generators (boilers); generating 80,000 lbs. of steam per hour at 150 psi.
• Four centrifugal electric motor driven air compressors; furnishing compressed air at 110 psi.
• One gas CHP (COGEN) turbine generator; generating 8 MW and 80,000 lbs. of steam per hour.
• All ancillary equipment associated with the above equipment.

Perform the following maintenance duties:

• Troubleshooting/repair/perform preventative maintenance of all equipment that provides steam, chilled water and compressed air found in the Steam and Chilled Water Generation Plant.
• Measuring, cutting and threading pipe, and cleaning the water and fire sides of the steam generators.
• Troubleshoot/repair control issues associated with direct digital, pneumatic and electric controls. Repack valves, repair pumps and perform pump maintenance.
• Perform housekeeping duties within their work area as required and assigned, i.e. sweeping, mopping, wiping down equipment in their work area, keeping their work area clean and free of debris or hazards, etc.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) Certificate preferred
• Have a current Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (MD-DLLR) Grade 1 License (First-Class Stationary Engineer) and maintain this license.
• Have performed at least two years of independent operation as a first-class stationary engineer on similar-sized equipment
• Have a current Universal CFC License (EPA Universal Certification) and maintain this license.
• Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be reliable, dependable, punctual, maintain good attendance and conscientious about quality performance.

Desired Qualifications:

• Federal Experience preferred

It is mandatory that all Contractor personnel working onsite at federal facilities meet federal government security clearance standards.
