Job summary

CMI Management LLC is seeking a MD 1st Class Engineer for our 24/7 Gaithersburg, MD site. You will oversee safe operation of steam, chilled water, and related systems and perform preventative maintenance.

Required MD-DLLR Grade 1 License (1st Class Stationary Engineer) and Universal CFC License, with at least 2 years of independent operation on similar equipment. On-site role at a government/commercial facility.

Qualifications

• Must hold MD-DLLR Grade 1 License (1st Class Stationary Engineer).
• Must hold Universal CFC License.
• At least 2 years of independent operation as a first-class stationary engineer.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain steam generation and related equipment 24/7.
• Monitor steam pressure, water levels, and O2 in exit gases.
• Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on steam and chilled water systems.

Job Description

The MD 1st Class Engineer is responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all equipment at CMI’s 24/7 customer site in Gaithersburg, MD.

Key Job Functions

• Maintain the correct steam pressure and water level in the steam generators
• Inspect feed water regulatory controls and gauges
• Ensure proper combustion by maintaining the required O2 levels in the exit gases
• Maintain an established chemical program by performing tests, adding the required chemicals to each system, and adjusting system blow down rates, etc.
• Operate all auxiliary equipment associated with steam generation, and electrical generation, and chilled water production
• Maintain correct air pressure by proper adjustments to the air compressors and dryers
• Maintain site Chilled Water temperature to the campus
• Operate and monitor the chillers for inlet/outlet temperatures for the condenser and evaporator, and the free cooling system
• Insure the safe operation of all equipment
• Wear proper PPE and follow all required protocols
• Troubleshoot/repair/perform preventative maintenance of all equipment that provides steam, chilled water and compressed air found in the Steam and Chilled Water Generation Plant
• Measure, cut and thread pipe, and clean the water and fire sides of the steam generators
• Troubleshoot/repair control issues associated with direct digital, pneumatic and electric controls
• Repack valves, repair pumps and perform pump maintenance
• Perform related housekeeping duties as required and assigned

Qualifications

• Must have a current Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (MD-DLLR) Grade 1 License (1st Class Stationary Engineer)
• Demonstrate at least 2 years of independent operation as a first-class stationary engineer on similar-sized equipment.
• Must have a current Universal CFC License
