Ingalls Shipyard is seeking a First-Class Electrician to layout, install, and repair shipboard cables, lighting, and electronic equipment, as well as ship power systems. The role requires reading marine drawings and blueprints, and may involve work at heights, in confined spaces, and across shifts.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in marine electrical work, with preferred 1 year shipboard experience and the ability to work day or night depending on ship construction needs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4+ years experience in marine electrical field.
  • Read and interpret marine drawings/blueprints in metric and standard measurements.
  • Preferred one year shipboard experience (sonar, radar, power, internal communication, navigation).

Responsibilities

  • Layout, install and repair shipboard cables and lighting.
  • Install and maintain electronic equipment and ship power systems.
  • Read drawings and schematics; work with blueprints.
  • Work in shipyard environments, possibly at heights and in confined spaces; day or night shifts.
